Johannes Max Wilhelm Bay (b.1993) is a qualitative researcher, strategist and designer based in New Zealand. Most recently he was Product Design Lead at 21e8 Ltd, researching and developing new form-factors for next-generation network infrastructure and interfaces.

He works with and advises on developing locally-grounded products, services and strategy. Clients and projects include Empirical, MAD, Archival Studies, POST.design, L0ND0, Orium and TABLE WINE.

Johannes holds a BDes in Visual Communication Design from Toi Rauwhārangi Massey University and a MSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science.‍
